Final Daily Update #13

This will be our final daily update for now! hope you all have enjoyed this as much as we did. ~E

Did you know...
This issue is the most serious in China, because of the many people that live in China, the demand for food is higher. China is also the biggest export country, meaning that the demand is even higher for agricultural products. This means that more finite resources are being used in China for agriculture

Daily Update #12

The LAST daily update will happen tomorrow. I hope you all had a great time with us! ~E

Here's a challenge!
Go out and treat yourself to a vegan pizza! Go somewhere that can sell vegan pizza and have a try, it could be quite good.
You may find something that you enjoy that is vegan and will help with the issue of agriculture. The more vegan-related things you buy, the less demand for animal

Science Experiment

Global warming is how scientists describe the gradual warming of our global climate. Scientists think that the trend towards global warming can be attributed to the buildup of greenhouse gases in the earth’s atmosphere from industrialization. Another problem is deforestation, as we remove plants and trees from the environment to meet a high demand for for lumber or by clear cutting fields for farming and urbanization. By removing trees from Earth’s environment, are we changing how greenhouse gasses are processed in the Earth’s atmosphere? What effect do trees and plants have on greenhouse gasses?

Aim: To find out what effect the trees and plants have on greenhouse gasses.

Hypothesis: I predict that the jar without the plant will be warmer because the plant in the other jar will be changing carbon oxygen & cooling the world

Apparatus:
  • 2 large jars
  • 1 plant
  • 2 thermometers

Variables:
Independant: What’s inside the jar.
Dependant: The heat inside the jars.
Controlled: The type of jar.

Method
  1. Put the plant in one of the jars.
  2. Put the thermometers in both jars.
  3. Put the lids on both of the jars.
  4. Record the temperatures at 10 mins, 20 mins and 30 mins
  5. Graph results

Graph of our results:
Time
Plant jar
Non-plant jar
10mins
30°C
26°C
20mins
15°C
32°C
30mins
18°C
24°C

Summary:
At the end, we didn’t have enough time to finish the experiment and do it for an hour, we had trouble reading the temperatures and getting them accurate so the results were rather mixed up and we couldn’t get a specific conclusion but two of the readings showed that the non plant jar was warmer so we just went with that.

Conclusion:

Overall our hypothesis was correct. The jar with the plant inside it had started cooling down, while the other jar got somewhat hotter.

Daily update #10

Hope you have all been doing and reading the daily updates! ~E

Did you know...
Numerous studies have linked the consumption of animal flesh to cancer. A major Harvard study found that people who frequently eat chicken cooked with-
out the skin (supposedly the “healthier” way to prepare chicken) were 52 percent more likely to develop bladder cancer than people who don’t eat chicken. Also, that’s one of the reasons of tax meat in America.

Daily Update #9

Here's the next daily update. Try to doing this one every Monday! ~E

Here's a challenge!
Today is Meatless Monday! (Again)
Challenge yourself to not eat or buy any meat today!
You can start to do this every week, only one day where you don’t eat meat. This could help with the less demand for meat. Check out the video to learn more about it; https://youtu.be/Jv8u9VOgkiQ

Do you think you have what it takes to do it every Monday?
