We had a guest speaker come to us at school and talk to us about his experience in Vietnam about what he and a group of people do to help give water filters to people in Vietnam. We took notes on what he did below. ~E

Guest Speaker notes - Water filters

• Child Sponsorship         

• Fundraising - on a page/website -Give a Little
• $100 = water filter for someone
• Went to Vietnam - Awareness for water filters  
• The water supply may shut down in Vietnam
• Water is polluted - lakes  
• Vietnam is very hot.
• Bathing in mud is good - cows do it to keep cool and keep insects out.
• They make their own paper
• Temperature drops -3°C at night.
• Vietnam usually has men as leaders
• Limestone- the water is full of minerals the water has an effect on the bones in your teeth
• Carry water in buckets-run out at night for water- Carry back to kitchen and pour it through water filter
• Rice is one of the main exports in Vietnam.
• The water filter works with the water going through sand - doesn’t use power or anything.
• Fertiliser and pests get into the water supply.
• Good filter, one for one village or a few normal filters for one village.
• Give and Volunteer.
• Go online to get involved with charity.
